Why use non-woven fabrics?

As we all know, non-woven fabric is a very popular fabric for its low cost, light-weight,, and durability. It is a kind of fabric that does not require spinning weaving. Nonwoven fabrics are made of individual fibers (rather than yarns) that have been tangled, felted, or bonded together. They are often less stable and pull apart more easily than wovens and knits. Nonwovens are used in applications such as felt crafts, wet wipes, weed barrier fabrics, and other landscaping textiles.

On top of that Non-woven bags are recyclable. Hence, it can be claimed that nonwoven bags are environmentally friendly. Spunbond polypropylene fabrics do not harm the environment and they are more environmentally friendly than plastic products. Nonwovens do not depend on the interlacing of yarn for internal cohesion. Intrinsically they have neither an organized geometrical structure. They are essentially the result of the relationship between one single fiber and another.

This provides nonwoven fabrics with characteristics of their own, with new or better properties (absorption, filtration) and therefore opens them up to other applications. The versatility of nonwovens means that they can provide innovative, cost-effective, and sometimes unexpected answers to innumerable business challenges.

Innovative products and solutions can be created; problems can be solved and needs to be met by incorporating appropriate properties. These properties are often combined to create fabrics suited for specific jobs while achieving a good balance between product use-life and cost.

The technical developments in polymers, nonwoven processing, and fabric finishing have led to significant improvements in fabric physical and mechanical properties including fabric handling and drapability, tensile properties, abrasion resistance, pilling and washing stability, dyeing, and printing that create prospects for nonwoven fabric applications in particular in apparel outerwear.
